Vision Statement
The vision for the George Bancroft School is to develop a team approach to education: a team composed of teachers, parents, and members of the community working together in support of a program of excellence for all of the young people entrusted to our care. In this fashion the school will become the center of the community and the hub of activity: a place which, through involvement and commitment, will develop in the students a sense of belonging, a spirit of community, and a desire for excellence.
Mission
To provide a quality student-centered environment that fosters maximum learning by each, student, enabling each to enjoy life-long learning while becoming a productive, global citizen. Our mission will have been accomplished when all learners are:
- Quality Producers who exercise persistence and effectively communicate, compute and use technology, information and different forms of creative expression.
- Self-Directed Learners who exhibit a love for learning, know how to learn, and demonstrate a sense of wonderment, curiosity and enthusiasm for new experiences.
- Knowledgeable problem solvers who think independently and consider and apply a broad range of options and strategies in defining and resolving problems.
- Informed Decision-Makers who anticipate the consequences of their actions, maintain healthful habits, an exercise integrity and sound judgment in making consumer and life decisions.
